Between December 10, 2018 and May 10, 2019





Update: I've reached my goal weight, so I'm on a management plan now since May.

So far, I've been able to stay within +/- 3 pounds of my goal weight!

In a clinical study, the group on the Optimal Weight Loss 5 & 1 Plan® lost 10x more weight than the self-directed group. Average weight loss on the Optimal Weight 5 & 1 plan is 12 pounds.

In 2018, I spoke to over 10,000 people online and in person at events across the US and Canada. I love helping people grow their businesses, and I love speaking to groups. But since I was always self-conscious about how I looked, it stole the joy out of the experience.

I hated the way that I looked. And I hated the way that I felt.

Year after year of sitting all day in front of screens, making bad decisions about what I ate or drank, and a general lack of movement brought me to this point.

Mid-year last year I started feeling like my body was slowly dying. My energy levels were dwindling. My joints were painful. My knees ached as I went up and down stairs. Even the knuckles of my fingers were sore to the touch.

I’m 5’6. I was 270 lbs and miserable.
Something had to change.

I’ve known Twanna Arnold for long time. She and her husband are good friends. I watched her go through a radical health transformation a few years ago. And not only her, but her kids and then other people in our church. I was interested.


So, on December 10, the day after I got home from WordCamp US, I started on a journey of health, with Twanna as my health coach.

I’ve tried to lose weight in the past – starving myself in the kitchen and killing myself in the gym. And quite frankly seeing very little results.

Certainly nothing that lasted.

But Twanna helped me put together an eating plan that works. It’s based on eating every 2-3 hours (6 fuelings per day). I haven’t been starving, and I’ve been able to avoid the sugar crashes that make me intolerably grumpy and no strenuous exercise.

The plan is designed to put your body into a state of mild ketosis (fat burning) so that it uses your stored fat as fuel and keeps your lean muscle.


And the weight has steadily fallen away.

Almost 70 pounds now in less than 4 months by sticking with the plan…

As an extra bonus, the fat burn is like rocket fuel! I have more energy since I started the plan than I have in years! As a matter of fact, it’s that extra energy that gave me the additional boost to get my first book written and published in January.

It makes me wonder how much my poor health habits have cost my business over the years.

Already, I've seen significant improvements in my energy level, self confidence, mental clarity and productivity.
